I am blown away by the lucky adventures that I fall into and by the wonderful friends that make them possible. Feeling super grateful for my beautiful and gracious friend Audra Gold. She’s always got something great on the books to check out. This past weekend Audra took me along on an artist led tour of the Venice Art studio/residence of Ed Moses.

Ed Moses is considered to be the most influential artist of the West Coast Post War art movement. He’s planning an exhibit at the LACMA that will open next year, May 10, 2015. Over a hundred pieces will be up for viewing. His tour gave us a peek of what’s to come.

Being in his space and in his company was an unforgettable experience. Beyond his intense talent, he’s also a sage. He spoke of spirituality, control, man’s desire to leave his mark, letting go of control and worm holes. As the tour ended, I wished I could stay behind and talk to him more… listen to him talk.

“The human wants to be in control. For a long time, I was trying to control, keep it boxed, keep it shaped. Finally, I realized, I don’t want to be in control. I want to be in tune. In other words, I want to be with the forces that are about in our life.” Ed Moses

Moses talks about Stephen Hawking, time, space, mirrors and what’s on the other side of the mirror…worm hole!

“The connection is pattern and this way was a way of discovering pattern without making pattern so the pattern erupted out of the process.” – Ed Moses
